Pitchfork Music Festival 2011: 15 Things Seen & Heard

Hodgy Beats of OFWKTA crowd surfs during the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival on July 17.

In preparation for the release of “Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power,” due July 19, Fabolous unleashed the 2 Chainz-assisted, "When I Feel Like It." The David D.A. Dorman-produced track is the second single off the upcoming album behind “Ready,” featuring Chris Brown, which peaked at No. 32 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs on May 25. Though the New York rapper has posted 46 songs on the list since his 2001 debut, including nine top 10s, he has yet to score a No. 1 hit. Could "When I Feel Like It" do the trick?

Odd Future’s Hodgy Beats dropped a new track in advance of his "Untitled 2" EP, available for free download July 1. The introspective "Years" asks the question: "Where do you see yourself in a couple of years?" For Hodgy, the answer could include chart success as a solo artist, having already posted two albums on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums as one-half of Mellowhype. The duo’s debut “Blackenedwhite” peaked at No. 19 in 2011 followed by “Numbers” which opened at No. 8 in 2012.
