Speech Debelle

On today's Daily Noise brought to you by Fuse and Billboard.com, Speech Debelle is riding high after winning the Mercury Prize two weeks ago, the UK critics' award for best album of the year for "Speech Therapy". The once-homeless London artist has seen sales spikes since the victory, and will be performing in the States this fall, including at the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC in October.

Rapper Mos Def is making a documentary about Death, a little-known but pioneering 1970s black punk band from Detroit, and Karen O. of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs talks about teaming up with old flame Spike Jonze to contribute music to the soundtrack for his new film, "Where the Wild Things Are," in theaters Oct. 16.
