Though Eric Church wasn't able to grace the stage for this year's ACM Awards, he squeezed out a dazzling performance at home of his new song "Never Break Heart" as part of ACM Presents: Our Country on Sunday night (April 5).

To kick things off, the resilient country star injected words of encouragement to those seeking answers amid the COVID-19 outbreak. "I have hope, and you should have hope, because since the beginning of time, people have gathered," he began. "They gathered for fellowship, they've gathered for worship, they've gathered for prayer, they've gathered for song, they've gathered for communion, they've gathered for grief, but they've gathered -- and we will gather again."

Sans his signature sunglasses, Church clocked in a strong performance of his new song while playing guitar inside his home. "It's OK to cry, but don't never break heart," he sings on the song's chorus.

"Never Break Heart" could be part of a new project Church is working on at the moment. In February, Church said he recorded 28 songs in 28 days. "For me, it's as far out there as I've gotten," he told onlookers at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. "I couldn't shut it off. For three or four days, I wasn't sleeping because I was in the studio all night and getting up in the morning. I couldn't turn it off. It really opened up some great stuff, creatively."

Church was one of many country superstars to deliver in-home performances Sunday night, including Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain and more.
