Kacey Musgraves stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Dec. 5, where the country singer recounted her whirlwind CMA after party experience as well as performed a 14-song Christmas song medley and skit with late night host James Corden.

After congratulating Musgraves for her recent two wins at the CMA Awards for female vocalist of the year and music video of the year for "Rainbow," Corden asked her about a tweet she shared the morning after the awards show. On Nov. 14, Musgraves asked her followers, “Can you die from a hangover? Asking for a friend who is actually me.”

“Directly after the show I went to Willie Nelson’s bus,” she explained. “I brought him some pizza, we hung out for a second. And then, I really don’t know what happened.”

“That’s because you smoked loads of weed,” Corden interjected. “You can’t go on Willie Nelson’s bus and just share a slice of pizza. You’ll be high the second you get on there.”

Musgraves agreed. “Hands down. Can’t walk,” she said. “We leave, we hit some Nashville honky tonks. The next time I know, I’m in this barn and Reese Witherspoon is playing bongos. Gigi Hadid is also playing bongos. I’m singing with Ronnie Dunn. I don’t know. And then I woke up.”

It may be a while until Musgraves drinks again, but she let Corden in on her go-to hangover cure: “Gatorade but also not drinking. Don’t poison yourself. Don’t be an asshole and drink buckets of tequila,” she said.

Later, she and Corden transformed The Late Late Show stage into a romantic holiday film where they sang 14 songs with nine sets all in one take. Titled Soundtrack to a Christmas Love Story with Kacey Musgraves, the country star and late show host played the role of a new couple with the ups and downs of their holiday romance acted out precisely with the help of holiday standards.
