Robert Vincent details the towns that have shaped him throughout his new single “This Town,” which Billboard premieres the video for today (Nov. 25). The five-minute clip was shot at The Plaza cinema in Vincent’s hometown of Crosby, England, as well as various U.S. towns that have left an impact on the Liverpool based singer-songwriter.
The nostalgic tune, which Vincent penned by himself, has the singer-songwriter reflecting on the towns that helped make him who he is. With delicate acoustic guitar finger-picking and soft percussion accompaniment, Vincent’s smooth and captivating vocals are at the forefront of “This Town.”
“An underlying sentiment to ‘This Town’ is that of my childhood, and I was keen to capture some of where I grew up as part of the narrative, but also where life had taken me,” Vincent, who has spent time in Nashville, Memphis and Buddy Holly’s home of Lubbock, Texas, tells Billboard. “We used some of these locations as a backdrop for ‘This Town.’ I have been connected to these places by music, history and films, even before I had visited.
