Keith Urban doubled the star power on his latest single, "We Were," with the help of fellow country superstar Eric Church.

The "Record Year" singer comes in on the second verse and provides additional harmonies throughout the chorus of “We Were," his yearning vocals adding even more emotion to the nostalgic tune. Church's contribution was a natural fit for Urban's newest release, as The Chief serves as co-writer on the song alongside Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde.

“I heard that my buddy Eric was a writer on ‘We Were,’ so I thought, ‘Hey, what a cool opportunity for people to get to hear a writer singing,’” Urban said in a statement. “I think this guy could be really big!”

This is far from the first time the two country singers have teamed up. Previously, the pair sang together on Urban’s “Raise ‘Em Up.” The song, featured on Urban’s 2013 Fuse album, was released as a single in 2015 and hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart in May of that year. It went on to receive the CMA Award for musical event of the year in November 2015.

“We Were” marks Urban’s 40th top 10 single on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, as it ranks at No. 10 on the chart this week. He remains the seventh artist to total at least 40 top 10s since the chart’s 1990 inception.
