Luke Combs is showing some insight as to the kind of man he is on the lighthearted title track of his forthcoming album, due out Nov. 8.

On the song “What You See Is What You Get,” out today (Oct. 8), the North Carolina native admits that he’s a “constant work-in-progress” alongside a driving beat, powerful belt and memorable storyline

“I'm a puzzle/ I'm a walking contradiction/ Far from mint condition/ 'Cause there's pieces I can't find,” he sings on the song’s first verse. Later, he admits, “I'm an easy read but I ain't no open book/ Got a knack for making things harder than they look.”

The autobiographical song has Combs further promising that he’s a straight shooter. “I guess, be careful what you wish for, is all I meant when I said/ What you see is what you get,” he croons on the chorus.
