The track is the first taste of her forthcoming sophomore album.

Aubrie Sellers is gearing up to release her second album, and fans can get an early listen with her new single “Drag You Down.” Released today (July 26), “Drag You Down” embodies the singer-songwriter’s distinct brand of garage country.

The song kicks off with a guttural scream and ear-grabbing electric guitar parts before Sellers’ powerful vocals enter. “I need a partner in crime, and you’ll do fine,” she croons alongside a pounding bass beat and plenty of guitar shredding.

“I’m so excited to dive in full throttle and share this new music,” Sellers said in a press release. “‘Drag You Down’ is a snapshot of a sharp feeling, and I hope it’s a song people find cathartic to thrash along to when they feel discounted.”

While the track clocks in at just under 2:40, it’s enough time to showcase Sellers’ unique blend of country, soul and rock elements. A rollicking jam that will soar in the live setting, “Drag You Down” is just a hint of what’s to come on her upcoming project.

Sellers reunited with co-producer Frank Liddell (Brandi Carlile, Jack Ingram) in the studio for her sophomore album. The project marks the follow-up to 2016’s New City Blues.
