Kacey Musgraves, "Oh, What a World"

Kacey Musgraves has openly talked about how dropping acid helped her write the song "Slow Burn" from her smash Golden Hour album. But it's the mind-bending video for the ballad "Oh, What a World," which dropped on Wednesday (May 8), where the space country singer/songwriter really takes a deep dive into the psychedelic swimming pool.

The vibrant, Skittles-colored clip is an explosion of trippy imagery, from neon jellyfish, to a cotton candy galaxy that swirls into an image of a CGI Musgraves cradling the Earth in her hands as she sings, "Open your mind/ Things that swim/ With a neon glow/ How we all got here/ Nobody knows/ These are real things/ These are real things/ Oh, what a world."

Oh, and, of course, there's Musgraves as a topless pink centaur (a Kacentaur?) standing in a field of giant glowing crystals. Add in a male mermaid, a banjo-picking frog, an infinity mirror of hearts and a tranced-out Kacey covered in emoji and you have both the most brain-melting screen saver ever and the perfect visual for the navel-gazing space jam.
