Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire perform "Because of You" during the #AMinuteAndAGlassOfWine tour on March 29, 2019.

Kelly Clarkson was in the midst of her headlining set at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Friday night (March 29), when she teased a very special guest: Reba McEntire. Each night during her Meaning of Life Tour, Clarkson takes a few minutes to strip things down for her “A Minute and a Glass of Wine” segment and Friday's show was a special one.

“I’ve been super, super excited about this particular ‘A Minute and a Glass of Wine,’” Clarkson told the crowd. “Literally, I’ve been waiting for weeks to do this. I’m super excited for my guest…I asked this person because this person has been such an influence, not just musically but personally. It’s a really rare thing to meet your hero and they live up to it. We put this together because I’m a true fan so I’m making this person sing way more songs than they probably thought they would have to.”

Following her introduction, Clarkson invited McEntire out to the stage where for nearly 10 minutes, the country icon performed a slew of hits for the sold-out crowd. While McEntire kicked off her brief set alone with Clarkson’s “Because of You,” the headliner soon chimed in on the track and the forthcoming song montage.

“This is one of my favorites,” Clarkson said before the pair began singing McEntire’s “Can’t Even Get the Blues.” The performance didn’t stop there as McEntire soon launched into “Fancy” while Clarkson sang and danced along barefoot on the stage. They’d continue to share the stage for a collaboration on “Is There Life Out There” and McEntire’s latest single “Freedom,” featured on her forthcoming album, Stronger Than the Truth, out April 5.

Kelsea Ballerini and The Voice winner from Season 14, Brynn Cartelli, served as openers throughout Clarkson’s tour, which wrapped on March 30 in Greenville, S.C.
