Jason Aldean & Miranda Lambert Perform Smoldering 'Drowns the Whiskey' at 2018 CMA Awards

Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert took the stage together at the 2018 Country Music Association Awards to perform their smash duet from the former's Reaview Town album, "Drowns the Whiskey."

The performance had some pitch issues between the blended voices of the two country superstars, but found its footing as it went as the duo found their groove. "Drowns the Whiskey" had previously lost in the song of the year and event of the year categories earlier in the night, to Chris Stapleton's "Broken Halos," but is still nominated for single of the year.

While "Drowns the Whiskey" was a huge for the two artists, topping Billboard's Country Airplay chart earlier this year, the song's success has come with controversy, as this week Lambert bemoaned to the Washington Post that she "had to sing with someone with a penis to get a number one" -- referring to the problems she and other female country artists have encountered getting radio airplay in recent years. (She did clarify that her complaint wasn't about her specific collaborator: “I do like this person, Jason Aldean, a lot... so it was a great song with an old friend.”)
