Brad Paisley returned with his first single in over a year in "Bucked Off," a song about experiencing repeated disappointments in relationships, on Tuesday (Nov. 13).

Using elements of the rodeo as an extended metaphor, Paisley sings about knowing the end of a relationship is approaching. Comparing himself to a cowboy about to get bucked off an animal, he sings that he knows pain is about to come. However, near the end of the song, Paisley says that the pain will only last so long as he picks himself up and starts over again, continuing the cycle.

Paisley will be performing "Bucked Off" at the 2018 Country Music Awards tonight (Nov. 14). He will be hosting the ceremony alongside fellow country star Carrie Underwood. This will be Paisley and Underwood's 11th consecutive year co-hosting the Country Music Awards.
