A 22-year-old woman has been hospitalized after being struck by lightning at Country Thunder in Twin Lakes, Wisc., according to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

The victim, identified as Brittney Prehn from Illinois, was at the festival's campgrounds Thursday night (July 19). Officials responded to the scene at approximately 12:36 a.m. local time and first transported her to Northern Illinois Medical Center. They described her condition as "seriously injured."

Kayla Byrne, a witness to the incident who happened to catch the moment on camera, tells news station WISN she was taking cover under a tent when the bolt of lightning struck Prehn, who was reportedly talking on her cell phone. She and her friends found Prehn unconscious and bleeding from the ear.

"She was laying on her stomach completely unresponsive, but she did have a pulse," she said before tearing up and saying she hopes Prehn is okay.

ABC 7 Chicago reports Prehn was transferred to Loyola University Medical Center, where she is in the intensive care unit.

Sam Hunt, Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan, who closes Country Thunder on Sunday, were among the artists playing the four-day fest.
