Carrie Underwood became a country superstar almost instantaneously following her season four American Idol win, and now the powerhouse singer will be visiting the set of the competition show again to return the favor.

Underwood will be featured as a superstar guest mentor this Sunday (May 13) for the top five contestants as they make a surprise trip to Nashville.

Underwood will also perform her latest single, "Cry Pretty," which she debuted during a stellar comeback performance at this year's ACM Awards. The song got an accompanying high-drama video, released Monday (May 7), and precedes Underwood's sixth studio album of the same name.

Watch Underwood coach her successor contestants on Idol May 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on ABC.
