Jason Aldean Talks Meeting Las Vegas Shooting Victims & Performs 'You Make It Easy' on 'Ellen'
Jason Aldean paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday (Apr. 16). The country superstar -- who was mid-performance when gunshots rained over the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas last October -- discussed his experience during the tragedy and reflected on visiting survivors in the hospital.
"It was rough, one of the hardest things I probably ever had to do," Aldean recalled to DeGeneres. "But to me, seeing them and some of the strength they had just being happy to be alive and make it through that, it sort of allowed me to look at it in a different light too, and be like yeah, if these people can come back from it and have that sort of attitude, then I got nothing to be whining about."
Following the interview, Aldean took to the stage with his backup band to perform his most recent single, "You Make It Easy." The waltzy, lovelorn tune comes from the singer's eighth studio album, Rearview Town, and peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February.
Aldean also took home the Entertainer of the Year Award Sunday (Apr. 15) at the ACM Awards, at which he also performed a smooth version of "You Make It Easy." Aldean made sure to shout-out the survivors and victims in his acceptance speech, and the singer also invited shooting survivors to sit in on Aldean's rehearsal for the awards show performance.
