Carrie Underwood Shares First Up-Close Face Photo Since Accident

Carrie Underwood has shared the first up-close photo of her face since a horrible fall last year that left her with a broken wrist and more than 40 stitches in her face.

The 35-year-old country star posted a smiling selfie on Instagram Saturday evening (April 14) that shows no visible damage or scarring to her face. The photo arrived ahead of her appearance on the ACM Awards on Sunday.

"Had a great rehearsal for the @acmawards ! Can’t wait until tomorrow night! #CryPretty #ACMAwards," Underwood captioned the photo.

The new image is one of the singer's more recent photos of herself following her facial injury last November. Earlier this month, she posted a caption-less black-and-white pic of one side of her face, which increased speculation of the extremity of her scars.

After the fall, Underwood told fans she's doing well but "not quite looking the same... “I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way," she said. "And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”

From the looks of her recent photo, the damage doesn't seem to be quite as severe as expected.
