Get to Know 'What Ifs' Singer Kane Brown: Watch

Country singer-songwriter Kane Brown sat down with Billboard for the latest installment of the “You Should Know” video series to help fans get to know a bit more about him, revealing his first job, his biggest guilty pleasure and dream collaborators.

Brown, who started making music three years ago, says that his debut track “Don’t Go City On Me” was the first song he ever wrote and that the first place he ever performed live was at a small café in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

“My music-making process is pretty fun and easy,” he explains, elaborating that he has a core group of writers he works with and they all go into a room together to write about their problems.

The musician also divulges that he is motivated by himself. “I know that sounds weird,” he says, “but I always compete with myself. If I do something, I always look at a chart and say I can do better the next week.”

The “What Ifs” singer also tells Billboard that his first job was working at Great American Cookies, his biggest guilty pleasure is playing Xbox until three in the morning and that he would love to one day collaborate with Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley.
