Kelsea Ballerini charmed the studio audience on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night (Apr. 10) with a performance of her endearingly ironic single, "I Hate Love Songs." The lyrics list Ballerini's distaste for stereotypical symbols for love, including roses, white-frosted cakes, catching bouquets, sharing letterman jackets and most of all, unrealistic lyrics in love songs. However, her loathing is sweetly absolved during the waltzy chorus: "I hate love songs, but I love you."

Ballerini performed under the glow of multiple chandeliers, looking elegant in a blush-toned blazer with matching stilettos. As she wrapped the final chorus, she twisted the last line in a salute to the show's host. "Corden, I love you," she sang before the camera panned out. Like Ballerini's blazer, Corden was tickled pink.

The country sweetheart's next TV performance will be at the ACM Awards this Sunday (Apr. 15). "I Hate Love Songs" is the second single from Ballerini's sophomore album, Unapologetically, following up the No. 1 Country Airplay hit "Legends."
