Fans of traditional country music have long been awaiting the arrival of an artist who just might bring back those sounds to the airwaves. If he has his way, Alabama newcomer Shane Owens will be leading that charge. The singer has been making waves with radio programmers for his old-fashioned style, which is evidenced on songs such as “All The Beer In Alabama” and the spellbinding “19,” which have both made inroads at secondary radio. Owens returns with a new single, “Lie"; below, check out a preview video.

Owens says the song is a perfect one to get fans on the dance floor, with its uptempo beat and melody, which he hopes will get into fans’ heads – and stay there.

“I think that ‘Lie’ is a great song and something a lot of people can relate to. Every woman knows a guy that's done this and every guy has at some point been this guy. It's an awful way to get a girl but it's bound to work some time. This song will have you wanting to cut a rug every time you hear it," Owens says.

A former college football player, Owens can look back at a past year that includes making his Grand Ole Opry debut. He also appeared at major live events such as CMA Music Festival and Jamboree In the Hills. He recently was included on a Cracker Barrel-exclusive release of Country Faith America and Country Faith Love Songs, while Netflix included his song "Country Never Goes Out of Style" in the popular series The Ranch. Currently in the studio working on a new album, Owens’ debut disc, Where I’m Comin’ From, was co-produced by Country Music Hall of Famer Randy Travis – one of his first musical endeavors after his stroke.
