Carrie Underwood Shares New Selfie After Her Dangerous Fall

After a dangerous fall this past November, Carrie Underwood is slowly making her way back into the spotlight.

The fall caused the country singer to get 40 stitches in her face, in addition to wrist surgery. Earlier this year, she commented that the injury might change her appearance somewhat. “When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different,” she wrote in a letter to fans in January.

Despite the injury, over the weekend (Feb. 24), Underwood posted meaningful photo on her Instagram raising awareness for The End It Movement, a global push to end modern slavery.

“Together, we’re in it to end it!” the singer wrote. “Help us shine a light on modern day slavery.” The photo features her and her husband both donning a giant “X,” with Underwood’s covering her face.

Underwood hasn’t commented on the injury since last month, but it’s a good sign that she is still working to help others while recovering herself.
