Jason Aldean & Wife Welcome Baby Boy
It's a boy for Jason Aldean and wife Brittany, who gave birth to the couple's first child together Friday (Dec. 1).
Baby Memphis was born at 1:29 p.m., weighing 9 lbs., 5 oz., they announced on social media.
"So blessed today to see my little man come into the world," the country singer wrote on Instagram, where he shared the first photo of his newborn son being held by his mom. "In a year that has been a rollercoaster ride, this is what its all about. I cant wait to see what life has in store for this kid. Memphis Aldean... 9lb 5 oz. #mamawasarockstar."
His wife posted the same snapshot and added, "Memphis Aldean Williams. Born today at 1:29PM weighing 9lbs 5oz. There are truly no words for the love we feel. Thanks for the amazing support @jasonaldean and enduring all the hand squeezing and nail digging ... HANDS DOWN THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!"
Aldean is also the father of two girls, Keeley and Kendyl, from his previous marriage.
It's a happy December for the Aldean family, following the tragedy on Oct. 1 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. Jason was performing on stage, and Brittany was at the show, when a gunman shooting from the nearby Mandalay Bay resort killed 58 people and injured hundreds more.
"When the gunfire started, I was not with Jason, but with some friends in a tent closer to Mandalay. As you can imagine my first instinct was to run to him and his was the same," Brittany said of the terrifying experience. "As we laid behind equipment onstage with some of our road family, bullets flying past... all I could think was 'I never even got to hold my baby.'"
"I just hope everybody can start to heal, and some of this stuff you never get over, but I hope it gets better for everybody as time goes on," Jason said in a recent interview.
