Blake Shelton Reads Mean Tweets Criticizing His 'Sexiest Man Alive' Title

Blake Shelton visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he posted on Twitter a video of himself reading some mean tweets backstage about his new title as People magazine’s "Sexiest Man Alive."

The title is sure to provide some sparring fodder to the country star and his The Voice co-judge, Adam Levine -- who received the honor in 2013. But the “Sangria” singer also has to face the barbs of Twitter users.

One of the tweets read, “Woke up this morning to the news that Blake Shelton is the Sexiest Man Alive. RIP every sexy man in the world who died in the ‘Great Sexy Plague of 2017’ overnight. You will be missed.” In response, the country star smirks at the camera.

Then The Voice judge leaned in to read this flattering tweet: “Blake Shelton is sexy if you like a guy who’s always about to lean in and tell you about a hearty, healthy American dog food.”

Later in the video, the good-humored musician read, “Blake Shelton looks like the dad in a drug commercial where they list off the side effects at the end while you watch him build a birdhouse.”

As Shelton would say, don’t hate him because he’s beautiful. This week is full of accomplishments for the country singer as his album, Texoma Shore, just landed at the top of the Top Country Albums chart.
