Bobby Bones on His Friendship With Charlamagne Tha God: 'He's Like My Best Friend'
On the red carpet of this year's CMAs, Billboard's Kevan Kenney talked to Bobby Bones -- the most recent (and youngest) inductee of the National Broadcasting Hall of Fame -- about his unlikely friendship with radio and TV personality Charlamagne Tha God.
"He's like my best friends," the radio host says. "Charlamagne and I have known each other for about six years and we grew up the almost exact same way. He's the guy I call when I'm not feeling right... And I'm the guy he calls."
Bones also discusses hosting the upcoming Country Rising benefit concert. "It's every big artist in Nashville coming together to raise money for a lot great causes," he explains. Bones brings up that it's unfortunate that it's necessary to have an event like Country Rising for so many tragedies but mentions that at least through those tragedies, people are able to come together. "It really is a big deal and it shows what this town and this format can do."
