Dierks Bentley, Eddie Montgomery & Rascal Flatts Sing 'My Town' in Tribute to Troy Gentry at 2017 CMAs

Not even taking into account the mass shooting at the Route 91 Music Festival, 2017 was a sad year for country music. On Sept. 8, Troy Gentry of hitmaking duo Montgomery Gentry was killed in a helicopter crash at age 50.

To pay homage to Gentry, his bandmate Eddie Montgomery, Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox took the stage together to perform the duo’s 2002 crossover hit “My Town.” When the cameras cut to the crowd, it revealed what everyone at home already knew: there wasn’t a dry in in sight.
