Montgomery Gentry Shares 'Better Me' Lyric Video Following Troy Gentry's Death: Exclusive
The passing of Montgomery Gentry’s Troy Gentry has continued to leave a hole in the world of country music that will never be filled. The Grand Ole Opry star passed away on September 8 in a helicopter accident a few hours before he was to take to the stage with longtime musical partner Eddie Montgomery.
The duo had just put the wraps on a new album, which should be released sometime in early 2018 by Average Joe’s Entertainment, with whom Montgomery Gentry had just re-signed with. As is often the case, the music that the duo had been working on has taken on an uncanny sense of timeliness, with the first single, “Better Me,” being a pristine example of where the guys were at from a lyrical standpoint at this point in their lives and careers.
Average Joe’s has just produced a lyric video to promote the song, and Montgomery says it’s hard not to get emotional by the clips of he and Troy, as well as of his partner and his family.
"What can I say, this song says it all,” says Montgomery. “Troy never sounded better. This video is like a walk down memory lane for me and T-Roy over the years. So many great memories. I am glad to share this with our friends."
