Don Williams' Memorial Will Be at Country Hall of Fame

The memorial service for country singer Don Williams will be held Wednesday (Sept. 27) in Nashville, Tenn., at the Country Music Hall of Fame, to which he was inducted in 2010.

Williams, who <a href="/articles/columns/country/7864982/don-williams-dead">died Sept. 8</a> at 78 years old, was known as the "Gentle Giant."

He made 57 Hot Country Songs <a href="/articles/columns/chart-beat/7957851/don-williams-biggest-hits-billboard-country-chart">chart appearances</a> between 1972 and 1992, including 17 No. 1s among 45 top 10s.

The memorial service at CMA Theater, beginning at 4:30 p.m., will be open to Williams' family, friends and music industry personnel.
