At the 2017 ACM Awards, the first award of the night was preceded by the first great joke of the night, a classic fake-out regarding who won best song of the year.
Prior to presenters David Copperfield and Nancy O'Dell announcing that Thomas Rhett had won for his hit "Die A Happy Man," they joked that the winner was Emma Stone for La La Land -- even flashing the card on camera 'as proof' -- to parody the 2017 Oscars best picture flub.
Fortunately, magician Copperfield was there to make things right; with a wave of his hand, the card changed to show the real winner (Rhett).
