Singer-songwriter Chase Bryant put a new spin on Little Big Town’s hit “Better Man” on Wednesday (Feb. 15), transforming it from a condemning accusation into a regretful, pensive perspective.

In his cover of the track written by Taylor Swift, Bryant changed “you” to “I” in the lyrics, giving the listener another side of a break-up, highlighted by loneliness, loss and a pang of guilt.

The vocals are backed by harmonies from country trio Runaway June, providing a sweet, yet heart wrenching background to an already emotional melody.

“Better Man” will appear on Little Big Town’s upcoming album, The Breaker, set to release on Feb. 24. Listen to the cover below.
