Watch Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood Dazzle With Classic Hits Medley at 2016 CMA Awards

An hour into the 2016 CMA Awards, we got treated to an extra special performance from the couple co-host Brad Paisley jokingly called, “Mr. and Mrs. Yearwood.”

Of course, each member of the Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood husband-wife duo has more then enough star power to carry a show. Together, they combined forces to take Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on a journey through some of country music’s most legendary songs.

They opened with the 1967 hit “Jackson” (as made famous by both Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood and the Cashes), then bridged into the memorable moments of numerous other classics: Crystal Gayle’s “Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty’s “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man,” Lynn Anderson’s “Rose Garden,” Keith Whitley’s “Don't Close Your Eyes,” and finally, “Golden Ring,” as popularized by George Jones and Tammy Wynette.

That’s an awful lot of history in five minutes’ time, but Garth and Trisha made it look easy.

Watch a clip of their performance above.
