Charlie Daniels shared his views on gun control in a recent interview with FOX411 Country. The veteran country singer echoed an argument made by many conservatives: "bad people are bad people, and you cannot clean up anything by taking guns away."

An open letter to Congress: Stop Gun Violence Now

Daniels also referred to Billboard's recent cover story -- an open letter to Congress urging for the passage of gun control measures that garnered nearly 200 signatures from big names in the music industry -- as "the biggest farce." "It's just political," he continued. "I don't give a damn who signed that thing on Billboard. They don't shoot guns. They don't know anything about them. What they do know is what they think is the popular opinion and I guarantee you, Orlando is just one guy. Wait until there are five or six of them."

"We've got enough gun control laws," he added. "The laws that we have now are not being enforced. These guns laws are cosmetic... It's like taking cars away to stop car wrecks. It's the drunk drivers that are the problem. You'll clean it up by taking the bad drivers off of the road."

Daniels' last album, Live At Billy Bob's Texas, came out in October of 2015. A representative for the singer was not immediately available for comment.
