LeAnn Rimes returns next week with a new single, "The Story," her first release on RCA-UK.
"The Story" was written by Phil Hanseroth and a version of the song served as the title track for a 2007 album from Brandi Carlile. "The Story" starts out as a plaintive ballad: "All of these lines across my face/ Tell you the story of who I am/ So many stories of where I’ve been/ And how I got to where I am/ But these stories don’t mean anything/ When you’ve got no one to tell them to." But as the track progresses, it adds a firm backbeat and muscular guitars, and Carlile’s singing becomes increasingly fiery.
