Brandy Clark Brings Scorching 'Girl Next Door' to 'Late Night With Seth Meyers'

Following the release of her sophomore album Big Day in a Small Town last week, Brandy Clark stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers to perform the record's lead single, "Girl Next Door." The live rendition benefited from beefy drumming -- a punchy rumble that sat high in the mix.

Can Brandy Clark's 'Girl Next Door' Break Through at Country Radio?

Clark wrote “Girl Next Door” with Shane McAnally and Jessie Jo Dillon; it was Dillon's tale of romantic trouble that inspired the song's conceit: “The thing that turns you on is what you wanna change/ But you have a better chance of slowing down a train.”

“It’s just a hook that’s been sitting there waiting to be written forever,” McAnally told Billboard earlier this year. “We write songs every day -- it’s so rare that a hook like that happens, where you’re like, ‘Holy sh--, how has this not been said?'”
