Brad Paisley's never been one to shy away from a contentious topic -- remember his 2013 collaboration with LL Cool J titled "Accidental Racist"? -- and he continued on in that tradition during last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live! (May 24).

The country star reworked the Tammy Wynette classic "Stand By Your Man" into a statement on North Carolina's widely debated bathroom law targeting transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. "We were way ahead of that in our format. Country music dealt with this in the 60s," Paisley said before performing his remake, which included the reworked chorus "Sit by your man/We're all just human beings."
