Darius Rucker, Clay Walker & More Bulk Up CMA Benefits
Less than a week before the benefits take place, Darius Rucker and Clay Walker have unveiled the guest list for their annual fundraising shows -- both to be held in the days leading up to the CMA Music Festival.
The Darius Rucker & Friends concert on June 8 at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon features Little Big Town, Brett Eldredge, A Thousand Horses, Brothers Osborne and Steve Wariner, with proceeds aiding the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Walker's Chords of Hope concert, presented by WSIX Nashville, raises money for Band Against MS on June 10 at 3rd & Lindsley with guests Bryan White and Curb artist Tim Dugger.
As well, Sara Evans will host the next installment in the CMA Songwriters Series on June 11 inside the AT&T U-verse Fan Fair X during the CMA Music Festival. Evans shares the stage with writers Jim Beavers (Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer," Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup"), Marcus Hummon (Rascal Flatts' "Bless the Broken Road," Evans' "Born to Fly") and Aimee Mayo (Lonestar's "Amazed," Kellie Pickler's "Red High Heels").
Kip Moore is launching a Comeback Kid Skatepark Project to build recreational skate facilities for kids in multiple cities. The first four installations should be completed by the fall in Nashville, Boston, San Marcos, Texas, and Annapolis, Md.
Eric Church, Zac Brown Band, Jake Owen and Sam Hunt have been added as performers for the June 10 CMT Music Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Carrie Underwood, with five nominations, is the top finalist in the contest, which also features performances by Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line.
