Glen Campbell to Receive Lifetime Honor at Hollywood Music in Media Awards

Glen Campbell is being honored with the lifetime achievement award at the 5th Annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards, set for Nov. 4 at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Campbell recently released his final recording, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You," for the documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, which chronicles the music legend's struggles with Alzheimer's. With a career that spans nearly five decades, Campbell — known for '60s and '70s hits such as "Gentle on My Mind," "Galveston" and "Rhinestone Cowboy" — is being recognized for his contribution to the music industry. He is considered the first country music star to cross over to the pop charts. A legendary guitar player, Campbell is featured on classic albums such as The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and Frank Sinatra's Strangers in the Night.

Campbell has received a slew of accolades over his career: five Grammys, three Grammy Hall of Fame honors, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards, two Country Music Association Awards, three Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and a Pioneer Award honor. In 2005, he was induced into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has released more than 70 albums and sold more than 45 million records.

The Hollywood Music in Media Awards highlights the best music in film, TV and video games. This year's ceremony will feature performances of "Lost Stars" by Begin Again composer and songwriter Gregg Alexander, a drum suite from Birdman composer Antonio Sanchez and music from Orange Is the New Black. Eric Roberts, Stephen Bishop and Rickey Minor are among the presenters.
