George Strait’s Final Concert to Get Cable Broadcast

If you weren’t one of the record-setting 104,000 fans in attendance at George Strait’s final concert, you’re in luck. The entire show will air on CMT Friday, Aug. 29 in a two-hour exclusive premiere.

George Strait: The Cowboy Rides Away will air from 7 to 9 p.m. (ET) and includes new interviews with the King of Country to go along with the live footage.

The show took place at Arlington, Texas’ AT&T Stadium on June 7, 2014. It  included guest performances from Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride. Also, Strait’s son George “Bubba” Straight, Jr. joined his dad onstage for a performance of “Arkansas Dave.”

Erv Woolsey and Louie Messina served as executive producers of the film. Danny O’Bryen produced and co-directed, with Brian Lockwood as co-director.
