M.I.A released a demo for a track called "Platforms" onto SoundCloud Friday, tackling matters of oil and tech in her lyrics.

Over a shuffling synth beat accented with timpani-like drums, the song starts, "Neon lights on the dust on the ground on the bus / Dirty roads makes that scarf wrap a must / Rolling by scrolling for the future on the app / Data mine my mind like a diamond in the ruff."

M.I.A. teased the track earlier in the day in an Instagram video and later a post to Twitter, saying, "If I find my soundcloud password I'll upload today's demo."

In March M.I.A. released "Can See Can Do" and promised more new music in the summer.

M.I.A.'s fourth studio album, Matangi, debuted atop the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart when released November 2013.
