The newest addition to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss' house-music empire is Emerald City, a label they launched earlier this month that will spotlight melodic, vocal-heavy deep house releases. The debut EP isn't due until April 6, but on Wednesday (March 18), Jones and Foss released its first track, "Fearing Love," which was produced by New York artists Serge Devant and Damiano and features vocals by Camille Safiya.

The track will be available on Soundcloud Thursday, but you can listen to it now on Billboard

This isn't Devant's first go at turntable fame. In 2009, the Brooklyn producer signed with Ultra Records and released a hit single, "Addicted." But as dance music began to bubble up into the mainstream, crossing over into top 40 radio and becoming what's snidely referred to as EDM, Devant felt uninspired and took a break. Shortly after, he suffered a snowboarding accident that put him out for months.

Devant says he used the time off to reinvent himself. "After I finally decided to get back in the studio, I called my good friend Damiano and we linked up with Camille," he tells Billboard. "I immediately felt a connection between us. Everyone brought their own magic to the table." Upon hearing the record, Foss, who is originally from Chicago, suggested it would be a good fit for Emerald City and offered to remix it with Jones, who has developed a cult following thanks to his recurring Paradise party in Ibiza.

For Devant, it was an easy choice. Having the song be the first release from a buzzworthy label would certainly draw a lot of eyes. "And the timing couldn't be better," he added. "It's a proper summer gem."

As the deep house movement continues to swell, Jones and Foss are names to know. The tastemaking duo founded the London-based dance music label Hot Creations in 2010, and are half of Hot Natured, a live electronic band with singer-songwriters Anabel Englund, Ali Love and Luca C. In 2012, iTunes named Hot Creations the Electronic Label of the Year.
