Frankie Knuckles, Godfather of House, Mourned by Dance Community

DJ/ producer Frankie Knuckles, widely revered as the “Godfather of House,” passed away last night (March 31) due to complications with diabetes. Having pioneered the sound of house music with his groundbreaking productions and DJ sets at legendary venues such as Chicago's Music Box and the Warehouse in the early '80s, the 59-year-old Bronx native's contribution to dance music is immesurable. Knuckles' loss was immediately felt by DJs, producers and fans from across the globe.
