With "Hey Brother" sliding to No. 2 after a week at No. 1, Avicii's unprecedented 27-week lock on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs summit is broken. The streak began the week of Sept. 21, when "Wake Me Up!" began its record 26-week rule.
'SUMMER' TIME: Just in time for spring (finally), Calvin Harris debuts at No. 26 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Summer." The first song from Harris' forthcoming album features his vocals for the first time.
The start is based on a split of radio airplay (3.1 million audience impressions) and streams (215,000), while sales will impact the chart next week following the song's March 15 digital release.
'DOWN' IS UP: DJ Snake & Lil Jon improve with "Turn Down for What," the Streaming Gainer on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (3-3) and the Hot 100 (27-21). Following the premiere of its video, it cruises 5-2 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs (2.9 million, up 61 percent). "Turn" also increases on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs (2-2; 83,000, up 10 percent) and Dance/Mix Show Airplay (12-9).
SHINING 'LIGHTS': Tiesto scores his first Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10, as "Red Lights" lifts 11-10. The track also becomes his first unaccompanied hit on the Hot 100, debuting at No. 97. The Dutch DJ previously charted on the Hot 100 with Three 6 Mafia, Sean Kingston and Flo Rida on the No. 78-peaking "Feel It" four years ago.
Still, Tiesto is no stranger to Billboard charts, having placed seven songs on Dance Club Songs (beginning with in 2001) and 11 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. "Lights" is a hit on both lists, up 5-3 on Dance Club Songs and leading Dance/Mix Show Airplay for a fifth week. Tiesto tallied one prior Dance/Mix Show Airplay No. 1: 2009's "I Will Be Here," with Sneaky Sound System.
ROKELLE REIGNS: Rokelle rejoices in her first Dance Club Songs No. 1, while featured artist Dave Aude enjoys his eighth, as "Take Me Away" rises 2-1. Remixes from Denzal Park, Ivan and Nacho and Aude himself, among others, helped propel the track to No. 1.
