We may be a week away from spring, but Calvin Harris is already thinking about the following season: "Summer," the Scottish producer's jubilant new solo single, was released online on Friday (Mar. 14) after being teased for days with various snippets.

"Summer" marks Harris' first return to the microphone since his "18 Months" hit "Feel So Close," and like that song, "Summer" utilizes his gritty voice as an arresting placeholder between massive synth hooks. And also like "Feel So Close," "Summer" finds Harris pairing EDM bombast with the euphoria of romance ("We fell in love as the leaves turned brown," he croons).

Skrillex's 'Recess' & 10 Other Unexpected Album Releases

Although Harris has yet to announce the follow-up to his "18 Months" album, his sophomore LP will have a tough act to follow. The DJ's 2012 debut included hits like "We Found Love" with Rihanna, "I Need Your Love" with Ellie Goulding and "Bounce" with Kelis, and has sold 173,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Fans can catch Harris perform "Summer" and his other singles at Coachella and EDC New York this year. His Ibiza residency is set for this summer, with details forthcoming.
