Skrillex Announces Mothership Tour 2014, New Album (Updated)
Update: In addition to revealing the dates for his upcoming Mothership Tour 2014, Skrillex has confirmed a new album for 2014. The album, "Recess," was confirmed via a new app, Alien Ride, the producer released on his website.
According to Consequence of Sound, the app revealed a new track from the album, which does not have a release date: "All is Fair in Love and Brostep," found below.
After announcing a string of "takeovers" in Brooklyn and San Francisco, Skrillex has confirmed he'll be embarking on a bona fide tour this summer.
The GRAMMY-winning electronic music producer will hit the road beginning in May for the Mothership Tour 2014, following multiple sets at festivals across the country. The tour currently stretches through a date at the end of July.
After performing at SXSW this week, the musician born Sonny Moore will play a flurry of fests -- including Ultra Music Festival in Miami -- before playing a headlining set May 23 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Presently, the mothership makes its final landing July 30 in Portland, Maine.
Along the way, he'll be joined by Dillon Francis and DJ Snake, who will alternate tour dates, as well as Australia's What So Not and duo Milo & Otis. However, the two-night set at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver will feature a special, expanded lineup.
Skrillex is teaming up with Red Bull for the tour. "Nobody touches Red Bull right now when it comes to thinking up groundbreaking projects and ideas and actually making them happen," he said. "My crew and their crew have a lot in common, as people in terms of thinking big and going big so they were an obvious choice as a partner for my 2014 tour."
Tickets go on sale March 14, with a pre-sale for Express Card members running from March 10-13.
