Daft Punk, Julian Casablancas Keep It Unreal In 'Instant Crush' Video: Watch

Daft Punk

Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" standout, "Instant Crush," has received a startlingly emotional video involving… a pair of inanimate objects. For a duo that rarely appears in public without robot helmets masking their faces, Daft Punk (and their special guest, the Strokes' Julian Casablancas) sure knows how to make its audience about non-humans.

The "Instant Crush" clip centers around a male and female figure propped up in the same museum, who fall in love without ever moving. Eventually, the intertwined statues are separated, and as Casablancas pours his heart out on a distant soundstage, the historical props try to reunite as an electrical fire threatens to ruin everything.

Daft Punk scored a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 last May with "Random Access Memories," while the duo's Pharrell-assisted summer anthem "Get Lucky" peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart. "Random Access Memories" has sold 840,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
