Chicago music festival also announces a partnership with Citibank Private Pass
Wavefront Music Festival, a three-day electronic music event on Chicago's Montrose Beach July 5-7, will feature diverse headliners like Jus†ice, Diplo, and Nicolas Jaar, Billboard has learned. The music-focused festival, which released its "First Wave" lineup today, also announced its partnership with Citibank Private Pass, the first of its kind for an electronic music event.
"We are really trying to be innovators and trendsetters and touch all different sounds of electronic music," says Brandon Carone, principal/producer of Wavefront and 4 Headed Productions. "Our goal is to become one of the only festivals that doesn't just focus on one electronic dance music genre, but hits it on the head, touching all EDM sound elements."
The lineup ranges from underground house favorites like Jamie Jones and Maya Jane Coles, who are synonymous with the budding genre; as well as dubstep originators like Caspa and Rusko; legendary DJs like Danny Tenaglia, and Dubfire and Sharam (of Deep Dish); and rules-free experimentalists like Damian Lazarus and Crookers. The full First Wave lineup is below; more acts will be announced over the coming weeks.
