EXO-SC, "What a Life"

The duo's "What a Life" album marks the latest chart accomplishment from the EXO members.

With four No. 1s and all thirteen of their albums going Top 10, EXO is no doubt one of the most successful K-pop acts on Billboard's World Albums chart. Now, that rich history continues one step further as a new splinter project makes its bow.

Composed of EXO's main rapper Chanyeol and the act's youngest member Sehun, EXO-SC made their debut on the K-pop scene last month with The 1st Mini Album: What a Life. The six-song EP debuts at No. 8 on World Albums, selling 1,000 copies, according to Nielsen Music. The set also debuts at No. 10 on Heatseekers Albums hinting that a Billboard 200 debut may not have been far away.

With the debut of EXO-SC, this now marks the eighth EXO-related act to make a dent on World Albums. In addition to the full EXO group, different combinations of the group members have released albums as EXO-K (which included six members who focused on releasing EXO songs in Korean), EXO-M (another six members who focused on EXO songs in Mandarin Chinese), EXO-CBX (the trio unit consisting of Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin), and now EXO-SC. In addition to the groupings, three members of EXO have landed solo albums on the charts in Baekhyun, Chen and Lay.

Particularly for the month of July, EXO have been a force on World Albums. This week, Baekhyun's solo album City Lights rises to a new peak of No. 4 on the World Albums chart (bringing his total number of albums sold in the U.S. to 4,000, according to Nielsen Music). And while it fell off the chart this week, EXO's latest album Don't Mess Up My Tempo had earned its 29th week on last week's chart dated July 27 (upping Tempo's total U.S. sales to 47,000 copies sold).
