Blue Ivy Carter Earns First Career Hot 100 Entry With 'Brown Skin Girl'

The track from Beyoncé's ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album debuts at No. 76.

At just seven years old, Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s firstborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, officially has a Billboard Hot 100-charting hit.

Beyoncé, Saint Jhn and Wizkid’s “Brown Skin Girl,” featuring Carter, debuts at No. 76 on the Hot 100 (dated Aug. 3), earning Blue Ivy her first entry on the Hot 100.

The track appears on Beyoncé's The Lion King-inspired album The Lion King: The Gift, which debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 54,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 25, according to Nielsen Music.

The budding superstar joins her parents with making a dent on the 60-year-old chart. Beyoncé has 63 career solo entries on the Hot 100 (the fourth-most among female soloists, after Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Aretha Franklin), plus 14 as a member of Destiny’s Child and five as The Carters. Of those 82 combined hits, she’s reached No. 1 10 times (six solo and four with Destiny’s Child).

JAY-Z, however, has 100 career solo Hot 100 entries (the fifth-most among all solo acts after Drake, Lil Wayne, Elvis Presley and Minaj), plus five as The Carters. He’s reached No. 1 four times.

Notably, as Blue Ivy earns her first Hot 100 entry, JAY-Z notches his 100th, as “Mood 4 Eva,” with Beyoncé and Childish Gambino and featuring Oumou Sangare, debuts at No. 90. Among all acts, he joins Glee Cast (207), Drake (196), Lil Wayne (163), Elvis Presley (109) and Nicki Minaj (103) as the only acts with at least 100 appearances on the Hot 100.

Beyoncé’s two debuts this week (“Brown Skin Girl” and “Mood 4 Eva”) brings her solo total to 63 career Hot 100 hits, tying her with Stevie Wonder.
