Jenni Rivera 50th-Birthday Song 'Aparentemente Bien' Debuts on Hot Latin Songs Chart
The song is the late star's 25th entry.
The Jenni Rivera Estate and Sony Music Latin released banda, mariachi and pop versions of the previously-unreleased song on what would have been her 50th birthday, July 2. Rivera died in a plane crash in 2012.
The track (whose title translates in English to "apparently well") arrives as her 25th Hot Latin Songs entry and first since 2014. It opens at No. 1 on Regional Mexican Digital Song Sales with 2,000 sold in the week ending July 4, according to Nielsen Music, marking Rivera's eighth leader on the list. (Only Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga has more, with 10.) The song also drew 2.8 million U.S. streams.
Rivera's brother Juan found her vocals for the song on a computer hard drive years after she recorded them. The track was written by Erica Ender and Alejandro Lerner, the former of whom co-wrote Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's smash "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber; the song spent a record 56 weeks at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs and a record-tying 16 weeks atop the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.
On Latin Airplay, Lunay lands his first leader, while Daddy Yankee earns his 13th and Bad Bunny adds his fourth. The song surges by 29% to 13.6 million audience impressions.
On Latin Rhythm Airplay, the track is the first, record-extending 21st and fourth No. 1 for Lunay, Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny, respectively.
