Plus, country trio Runaway June hits the top 10.

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi hits No. 1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart for the first time, rising 2-1 on the list dated July 13 to become the top emerging act in the U.S.

The 22-year-old's breakout single "Someone You Loved" continues to scale the Billboard Hot 100, rising 53-46, and the Adult Pop Songs (13-12) and Pop Songs (28-23) airplay charts, with 21.1 million all-genre million airplay impressions (up 25%), according to Nielsen Music.

Capaldi's debut LP, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, ranks at No. 75 on the Billboard 200, after debuting and peaking at No. 49 on June 1, and has earned 155,000 equivalent album units to date.

Capaldi claims the Emerging Artists crown from Blanco Brown, who led for two weeks and graduates this week, as his breakthrough hit "The Git Up" takes over atop Hot Country Songsand jumps 29-16 on the Hot 100.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.

Rounding out the Emerging Artists top five, City Girls rise 3-2, YK Osiris pushes 5-3, Lil Tecca jumps 11-4, as his debut hit "Ran$om" reaches the Hot 100's top 40 (51-35), and Pinkfong wades 7-5.

Plus, Runaway June hits the top 10 for the first time, vaulting 34-6, as the trio's debut LP Blue Roses arrives at No. 36 on Top Country Albums with 5,000 units. The set also opens at No. 2 on Heatseekers Albums and No. 5 on Country Album Sales. Its single "Buy My Own Drinks" bullets at No. 15 on Country Airplay, where it's the biggest hit by an all-female group since 2005, and becomes the act's first top 20 hit (22-20) on Hot Country Songs.
