Bell is also an accomplished songwriter (he’s No. 3 on the July 6-dated Hot 100 Songwriters chart), as he concurrently has five songwriting credits on the Hot 100: Jonas Brothers’ former No. 1 “Sucker” at No. 6, “Wow.,” “Sunflower,” “Without Me” and “Easier.”
Bell dethrones Finneas O’Connell on the Hot 100 Producers chart, after leading for the chart’s first three weeks. O’Connell dips to No. 2 thanks to Billie Eilish’s singles “Bad Guy” (No. 3) and “Ocean Eyes” (No. 86), on which he was the sole producer. Eilish and O’Connell receive co-songwriting credits on “Bad Guy.”
Notably, O’Connell rules the Hot 100 Songwriters chart for a fourth consecutive week.
The weekly Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot 100; plus, genre-based songwriter and producer charts follow the same methodology based on corresponding "Hot"-named genre charts. As with Billboard's yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
Three artists debut on the Hot 100 Producers chart for the first time: Andrew Watt at No. 4, Marshmello at No. 5 and Benny Blanco at No. 6.
Watt places the highest thanks to four production credits on the Hot 100: Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita” ranks the highest with its No. 2 debut, followed by Blanco, Halsey and Khalid’s “Eastside” (No. 35), 5SOS’s “Easier” (No. 64) and The Chainsmokers and Bebe Rexha’s “Call You Mine” (No. 73).
Blanco also received co-production credits on “Señorita” and “Eastside,” plus Halsey’s “Nightmare,” which he co-produced with Cashmere Cat and Happy P.
Marshmello debuts on Hot 100 Producers on the strength of three charting songs: “Happier,” with Bastille (at No. 25), “One Thing Right,” with Kane Brown (a debut at No. 57) and “Here With Me,” featuring Chvrches (No. 87).
