Keith Sweat Returns to No. 1 on Adult R&B Songs Chart With 'Boomerang'

Keith Sweat earns his second No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs airplay chart (dated April 13) as “Boomerang,” featuring Candace Price, ascends from the runner up spot. The track hits the top despite a 1% drop in plays in the week ending April 7, according to Nielsen Music. (Although the track declines in spins, the song still receives a bullet as it reaches No. 1 for the first time.) 

Sweat previously reached No. 1 with “Good Love,” which led for one week in 2016. In addition to those two leaders, the R&B veteran has posted another 10 top 10 hits as a soloist and two more as a member of the group LSG, with Gerald Levert and Johnny Gill, since the Adult R&B Songs chart began in 1993.

Elsewhere, “Boomerang” slips to No. 25 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, one rung below its peak position thus far in its 19 weeks on the survey. “Boomerang” is Sweat’s 29th entry on the chart, including three titles by LSG. “Nobody,” featuring Athena Cage, is his best-performing single on the list as it ruled for four weeks in 1996.
